    • Donations for Hawley agencies
HAWLEY- Representing Lake Region Community Dock Foundation, Jim Shook delivered contributions Nov. 14 for Hawley Fire Department, Hawley Police, Hawley Park & Rec Committee and Hawley Ambulance & Rescue. Each received $1,250, raised from the the Hometown Pride motorcycle ride held in June, and a portion of food sale proceeds from the Fall Classic Car Show in Bingham Park. The car show is operated by the Pocono Lake Region Chamber of Commerce, which splits food proceeds with the Foundation.     • Caroling 4-H members
LAKE ARIIEL - On Saturday, December 15 members from the Explorers 4-H club visited Julia Ribaudo Nursing Home. The 4-Hers sang Christmas carols with the residents. Afterwards the members went around handing out handmade crafts to all of the residents. The members would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

    • Queen of Peace aids Paupack food pantry
HAWLEY-  Father Beck of Queen of Peace Roman Catholic church in Hawley, gives Bob Paine, the director of the Loaves and Fishes food pantry in Paupack a check for $725 that was collected from parishioners. Aside from the monetary donation, 125 bags of non-perishable groceries were given to the pantry. From left: Doreen Tascone - Faith Formation Program Director at Queen of Peace, Jim Conrad - Director of the Food Collection Committee, Mary Kennedy - Secretary for the faith formation at Queen of Peace, Father Beck, Nancy Heffentrager - a food collection volunteer, Bob Paine - Director of the Loaves and Fishes food pantry at the Paupack United Methodist Church, Chuck Schadley - a food collection volunteer and Chris Schadley - Coordinator of volunteers at St. Veronica’s.

    • Kids collect popcorn, cocoa for needy
WALLENPAUPACK- Second grade classes at Wallenpaupack North Primary School collected donations of popcorn and hot chocolate and gave them to Anne Schmalzle from the Good Cheer Food Pantry. Anne Schmalzle said the people getting the food baskets were thrilled to get the treats. Anne is the mother-in-law of North Primary teacher Mrs. Mary Schmalzle. The food pantry distributed the food baskets Saturday, Dec. 15. Shown with Mrs. Anne Schmalzle are Lily Robert, Olivia McCue, Vincent DeSanti and Ian Schaefer. The children are part of Mrs. Mary Schmalzle’s class.
