Memorial butterfly release planned

On Saturday, June 1 the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice Butterfly release celebration in Warren County will take place at the Memorial Park Gazebo on the Corner or 5th and Catharine Street in Milford from 4 to 5 p.m.

The annual Butterfly Release Celebration will incorporate live music, the reading of each name being celebrated and release of dozens of Monarch butterflies.

Local history exhibit set at Riverview Inn

A grand exhibit of local Matamoras and Westfall Township history will be on display at the Riverview Inn, Saturday, June 1, from 2 to 5 p.m.

On display will be several hundred photographs and artifacts depicting past businesses, events, people, landmarks, as well as photos of past students and graduates of the Matamoras School System- which graduated its last class in 1956.

The Sculpted Ice Works Factory Tour and Ice Harvest Museum opened last Memorial Day in Lakeville. They will be celebrating their one year anniversary Saturday May 25 and have music, food, live ice carving and a tour of the facility.

Children can enjoy face painting, arts and crafts and free sno cones. All food proceeds will benefit the Wallenpaupack High School Swim Team.

Seventh annual Kidzstock festival set

The seventh annual Kidzstock festival, hosted by Creative Beginnings Learning Center, a ministry of the Free Methodist Community Church, is set for Saturday, June 1. The event is held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Honesdale High School football field.

On Saturday, May 18 starting at noon, the Greater Lake Region will sponsor the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, with opening ceremonies starting at the Wallenpaupack High School.

On Saturday, May 4, the Northeast Pennsylvania Audubon Society will lead a car pooling trip to the Basha Kill Wetlands.

WALLENPAUPACK - Wallenpaupack Area High School held their 2013 Senior Prom, An Enchanted Evening, on Sunday, April 28th at Woodloch Pines Resort.

Erika Maxson of Lake Ariel was named Prom Queen, and the title of Prom King went to Patrick Brown of Tafton.
