MILFORD - Following a newly enacted Pennsylvania law, the Pike County Commissioners have abolished the historic, elected positions of Jury Commissioner.

http://www.neagle.com/article/20130506/NEWS/130509878/1002/NEWS HONESDALE - Homicide charges against Benjamin Cain Kiefer, age 30, were held for the Court of Common Pleas today by Magisterial District Judge Theodore Mikulak. The Preliminary Hearing lasted approximately two hours.

The homicide occurred in Texas Township on March 23, 2013, when Benjamin Kiefer allegedly shot his brother, Kenneth Kiefer, several times with a .45 caliber handgun resulting in the death of Kenneth Kiefer.

HONESDALE- On Thursday morning Jeannie Brooks, 37 of Prompton, was sentenced to 45 days to 18 months at the Wayne County Courthouse for charges of theft by unlawful taking of the 1st degree and forgery of a felony 2.

MILFORD- Pike County District Attorney Raymond Tonkin announced that a Greentown man responsible for the death of a 22 year old Hawley woman was sentenced in Pike County Court on Thursday, Feb. 21.
