Funeral services were held for Virginia C. Marville, 73, of Lakeville, formerly of Collingswood, NJ, who died Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at Mercy Hospital, Scranton.


Funeral services were held for Virginia C. Marville, 73, of Lakeville, formerly of Collingswood, NJ, who died Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at Mercy Hospital, Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Samuel F. Marville.

Born March 27, 1934, in Camden, NJ, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Lucy (Whitehead) Cade. A graduate of the West Jersey Hospital School of Nursing in Camden, NJ, she had been a registered nursed for 40 years, retiring from West Jersey Virtua Hospital in 1997. She had been a local resident since 1998. She was a member of Hawley United Methodist Church where she was active with the Joyful Ringers Bell Choir; the United Methodist Women; and was the first chairperson of the Mission Outreach Committee. She had been a lifelong volunteer with many organizations and activities.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Jim Cackowski of Collingswood, NJ, and Dawn and David Carbonara of Marlton, NJ; a sister, Carol Slimm of Florida; and four grandchildren, Jennifer and Denise Cackowski and Nick and Laura Carbonara.

Calling hours were held Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 10 to 11 am at Hawley United Methodist Church, 315 Church St., Hawley.

The funeral was held Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 11 am at Hawley United Methodist Church, with Rev. Martin L. Cox, Jr., Pastor, officiating.

Interment, Lakeville Cemetery, Lakeville.
