The Lady Bucks hosted West Scranton on Monday and were outgunned in the match up losing the contest 17-4.


The Lady Bucks hosted West Scranton on Monday and were outgunned in the match up losing the contest 17-4.

At the end of the first it was anyone’s game to take with the score all even at two a piece but the Lady Invaders erupted in the second and scored seven unanswered runs.

The Bucks did win the third inning by outscoring their opponents 2-1 but in the fourth the visitors once again racked up seven unanswered runs to take a big lead and eventual win of 17-4.

Ashley Wallace paced the Lady Bucks with two hits and two RBI’s. Olivia Hessling, Anne-Marie Vega, Nora Pavone and Jen Ensslen all had one hit a piece for Wallenpaupack.

Western Wayne fell to Holy Cross 6-0 at home and dropped to 0-6 on the year. The Lady Cats only racked up three hits in the shutout.

Honesdale lost its second game of the year falling to Abington Heights 6-1.  The lady Hornets recorded four hits in the losing effort.

The Lady Warriors took down the Lady Hornets of Honesdale in a close match that could have gone the other way. The Hornets had the bases loaded in the top of the seventh but DV’s pitcher Eavan Matz ended up pitching out of the jam and the Warriors won 3-2. DV improves to 6-1 and Honesdale slips to 4-3.
