Services will be announced for Frances A. Gilpin, 88, of Greentown who died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Scranton.

Mrs. Gilpin was born Oct. 12, 1920 in Greentown and was the daughter of the late John and Lucy (Timpson) Duffy.

She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Seldon Gilpin; a brother, Thomas Duffy and 3 sisters; Anna K. Duffy, Helen Duffy and Mary Singer.

She was a graduate of Hawley High School class of 1939 and operated Duffy’s Landing And Cottages on Lake Wallenpaupack for many years.

Mrs. Gilpin was a member of Paupack Hills Golf Club and Wallenpaupack Historical Society.

She is survived by two nephews, Bernard Singer of Hawley; Neal Duffy of Marlton, NJ; and a niece, Kathryn Blewett of Coudersport.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a time to be announced.

Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel and burial will be in B.V.M. Queen of Peace RC Church.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
