The Hawley Farmer’s Market opened for the season on Friday.


The Hawley Farmer’s Market opened for the season on Friday.

The Market began its second season in the parking lot for the Hawley Train Station across from the Post Office.

“It’s great. Hawley needs something like this,” said Deb Corcoran, Beach Lake, as she purchase produce from Lazy Acres’ stand.

Dave Williams said the number of vendors signed up more then doubled from last year giving shoppers more choices. He said more shoppers are going to local Farm Markets where they can find produce and other products and learn how it is grown and made from the farmers themselves.

Among the products available Friday were eggs, plants, beets, and even some live chickens.

The Hawley Farm Market is open from 2 pm until 5:30 pm every Friday at the Train Station unitl October.
