More than 500 people attending two English handbell conferences at The University of Scranton will showcase their talent at two concerts, both of which are free and open to the public.


More than 500 people attending two English handbell conferences at The University of Scranton will showcase their talent at two concerts, both of which are free and open to the public.

The more than 400 participants in the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers Area II Conference will perform together in a concert on June 30 at 6:30 pm in the Long Center. The conference will take place at the university from June 27 to June 30.

The more than 100 attending the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers Area II Young Ringers Conference will perform at a concert on Thursday, July 2, at 2 pm in the ballroom of the Patrick and Margaret DeNaples Center.

The Young Ringers Conference participants are between the ages of 9 to 14. Their conference will take place at The University of Scranton from June 30 to July 2.

In addition to the free concerts and in conjunction with the conferences, the Raleigh Ringers, an internationally-acclaimed community handbell ensemble based in Raleigh, N.C., will perform at the Mellow Theater at Lackawanna College on Saturday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this concert are $15.
