Crews from Leeward Construction are installing conduits in the road at the intersection of Keystone and Main in Hawley on Thursday, Aug. 27 and then at Church and Main on Friday, Aug. 28.

The conduit is being installed to for the electrical wires for the pedestrian lights, which will be installed later. This is part of the $825,000 Streetscape project. The Committee planning the Streetscape project is currently finalizing the specifications for the lights. The specifications were changed to save costs and energy.

The lights were bid as an option to the Phase I of the Streetscape work, but were rejected because the costs for the project went over the grant money the Borough had available.

The Borough received a Department of Community and Economic Development grant for $250,000 to pay for the light fixtures.
