A Hawley woman was sentenced to serve over four years in state prison for setting fire to her trailer.


A Hawley woman was sentenced to serve over four years in state prison for setting fire to her trailer.

Pike County District Attorney Raymond Tonkin announced that Betty Ann Longyhore, 47, of Hawley was sentenced to a total of four years and six months to nine years in a state prison. Longyhore had previously pleaded guilty to Arson Endangering Firefighters, and Insurance Fraud, both felonies.

Longyhore pleaded guilty to setting her home located in the Skytop Trailer Park on fire in April of 2008.

The Tafton Fire Department responded to the scene but the trailer was a total loss. Longyhore submitted a false claim to Nationwide Insurance Company and attempted to collect and insurance settlement.

The case was prosecuted by the Pike County District Attorney Raymond Tonkin.
