The entire WNEP Feed-A-Friend Campaign raised $165,171 and fed 46,378 people in 2008.

Now in its 25th year, WNEP-TV, Pepsi-Cola and our generous community has collected and distributed food to needy families in your Local Community. All of the money and food collected in Wayne County stays in Wayne County to help support our local food pantries. You will be seeing Donation Bottles, sponsored by Pepsi and barrels marked Feed-A-Friend until Nov. 24.

The barrels are for non-perishable items. Barrels are placed at The Dime Bank (Honesdale, Hawley, Lake Region & Damascus), The Honesdale National Bank (Main Street, Hamlin and Rte. 6 Plaza), Curves (Honesdale), Lake Region IGA, Ray’s ShurSave, Hairway to Heaven (Hawley), Stephen’s Pharmacy, Super Duper, Wal-Mart, Wayne Bank (Lakewood, Hawley, Main Street & Willow Ave in Honesdale & Waymart), Wayne County YMCA and Wayne Memorial Hospital (Emergency Dept. waiting area and Outpatient waiting area) as well as many other local business’s.

“Please give what you can to help your local Wayne County neighbors,” organizers said.

Forest City junior, Matt Terry decided to assist with the program this year for his senior project, and is distributing donation bottles and barrels to locations throughout Wayne County.

Monetary donations may also be mailed directly to the Wayne County Food Pantry Program, 323 Tenth Street, Honesdale, PA 18431. If you need further information or would like a canister or barrel, please call Kathleen at the Wayne County Aging Office at 253-4262 or you can e-mail cfaatz@co.wayne.pa.us or kterry@co.wayne.pa.us.
