On Monday afternoon, the Wallenpaupack freshmen girls basketball team played host to North Pocono and defeated the Trojans 48-30.

The Lady Bucks jumped out to a three-point advantage after the first quarter expired, leading 5-2.

In the second, Paupack again outscored the Trojans by three, taking a 10-7 advantage into the intermission.

In the second half, the Lady Bucks erupted, rippling the twine for 20 points in the third, and 13 more in the final eight minutes of regulation.

“I was very pleased with the way our team played, and looked for the open girl,” Paupack head coach Ann Marie Simons told the News Eagle.

“We worked together for the win, and Rae Ehrhardt did a fantastic job of passing to begin the fast breaks, and setting up her teammates to score.”

Bridgette Mann had a game-high 21 points for Paupack, including one three-pointer.

Tori Ciszak collected 10 points, Irene Dispenza was 3 for 4 from the free throw line and picked up seven points, Ehrhardt recorded six, and Caitlin Gregory had three.
