Several personnel additions were made at the recent Pike County Commissioners meeting held last Wednesday, Jan. 19. In spite of the snowy, icy weather the meeting went further with only reporters present in the audience.
Announcements were made that Karen Thiel was hired as a part time clerk for the Magisterial District Justice McBride’s Office, effective Jan. 18. Michael Dolan was hired as a part time van driver for the Transportation Office, effective Jan 24.
It was also announced at the previous meeting that Ellen Shaffner who serves as Executive Director of the Pike County Library was appointed to the Children and Youth Advisory Board for a two year term ending on Dec. 31, 2011.
Several motions were approved which include a motion to execute the 2010 Report of the Pike County Liquid Fuels Fund. Also, a motion was approved to execute the 2010 Report of the Pike County Act 44 Tax Fund.
Also, a motion to authorize the chairman to execute the Salt Contract Participation Agreement between Costars and Pike County on behalf of the Pike County Correctional Facility was approved.
Four more motions were approved which include a motion to authorize the chairman to execute the election services agreement between Dominion Voting Systems and Pike County, on behalf of the Elections Office.
