 On Saturday evening, the Lady Bucks varsity basketball team opened up the doors to Scranton Prep, and fell to the visiting squad 48-30.

With the loss, the girls dropped to 3-4 n the Lackawanna League Division One standings, and 7-6 overall.

As of Sunday, they are currently sitting in fourth place, with West Scranton at the top of the standings (clinched first half title), Abington Heights (6-1), and Scranton Prep (5-2).

In the first quarter of action on Saturday night, the girls dug themselves a big deficit, trailing 17-5 at the end of eight minutes of play.

The Lady Classic’s defense again stifled the Purple Pack, holding them to just three points, and collecting seven themselves to take a 24-8 lead into the intermission.

In the third quarter the Lady Bucks got rolling, matching their first half total with eight points.

In the fourth, Paupack had their best quarter of the game, recording 14.

Paupack’s Alexix Roman led all scorers in the game with 15 points.

Nicki Mann had six, Kaelyn Ragonese with four, Ruth Casadevall collected three, and Molly Silsby recorded two.

Lindsey Schroth had 14, and Liz Schultz had 12 to pace the Classics.
