The Wayne County Builders Association (WCBA) installed its 2011 Board of Directors during a general membership meeting held in December at Woodloch Springs Country Club. Ethel Schmitt of Joybeck Custom Homes was elected WCBA President, and will represent the association as a Director for the Pennsylvania Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.


The Wayne County Builders Association (WCBA) installed its 2011 Board of Directors during a general membership meeting held in December at Woodloch Springs Country Club. Ethel Schmitt of Joybeck Custom Homes was elected WCBA President, and will represent the association as a Director for the Pennsylvania Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.
Schmitt has been employed as Joybeck’s Design Coordinator and Job Supervisor for the past 10 years and has served on the WCBA Board for the past two years. She has been an active member of the association since 1999. Over 80 WCBA members were in attendance for the officer installation ceremony.
“I am proud to lead one of the most influential trade associations in our area,” said Schmitt. “During my term as president I plan to keep members informed on a regular basis and in a timely manner, to recruit new members and to make them aware of the value of their membership. I also feel that offering continuing education workshops to both members and non-members is essential in helping them meet the challenges presented by the current economic climate.”
Newly installed members of the WCBA Executive Board include: John R. Bea of J R Bea Construction, 1st Vice President; Tara Tambasco of All About Improving, 2nd Vice President; Brian McGreevy of Paupack Plumbing & Heating, Treasurer/Vice President; John Sanders of Wayne Bank, Associate Vice President; and Joseph Harcum of Duck Harbor Company, Immediate Past President.
The following were named as 2011 WCBA Directors: Peter Arnold of Arnold Homes; Michael Burkhardt of Northeast Cabinet Center; Maria Coutts of Granite Homes; Alan Haviland of Haviland Building & Remodeling; Scott Lauersen of Lauersen Lawn and Landscape; Michael Rollison of The Honesdale National Bank; and Teresa Spoor of Eastern Penn Supply Company. Also named as Ambassador Directors were Richard Arnold of Eastern Propane and Robert Schuman of Shady Valley Enterprises.
WCBA is a non-profit association representing the residential construction industry. It is comprised of over 180 members and is an affiliate of the Pennsylvania Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.
