A car met a tractor trailer cab on a curve. There were only minor injuries reported.
State Police, Honesdale, report that on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at high noon, Geraldine H. Fuggetta, 49, from Hawley, was traveling west on Avoy Road SR 3040 in Paupack Township. She was operating a 2000 Ford Escort Zx2.
Brian J. Diehl Jr. a 25-year old resident of Honesdale, was heading east on the same road, in a 2010 Kenworth W900L cab.
Fuggetta lost control of her automobile while negotiating a right hand curve. Her car slid in the path of the oncoming tractor trailer cab. The Kenworth collided with the right side of the Ford Escort, and pushed the Ford off of the east side of the road. The car became pinned against an embankment, said police.
Diehl was able to help remove Fuggetta from her vehicle, and contact 9-1-1.
Trooper Paul Semler said that Fuggetta suffered minor cuts from broken glass, and was transported to the hospital by her husband. Diehl was not injured. Both drivers were strapped in.
Chapman Towing removed the Ford Escort from the scene.
