Strength training is a great way to fight weakness and frailty that can come with age. It is effective for men and women of all ages. People with health concerns - such as arthritis - often benefit most from strength training exercise.  Improved vitality and independence throughout life are brought about with strength training.


Strength training is a great way to fight weakness and frailty that can come with age. It is effective for men and women of all ages. People with health concerns - such as arthritis - often benefit most from strength training exercise.  Improved vitality and independence throughout life are brought about with strength training.
Growing Stronger is based on research from Tufts University. The research shows that subjects over 40 years of age improved muscle strength, bone density, stamina, mood, sleep and weight by participating in this strength training program.
Penn State Cooperative Extension's Growing Stronger program meets twice per week, for seven weeks, beginning April 5th . Two locations host Growing Stronger; Blooming Grove Fire Hall, 484 Route 739, Lords Valley and Pike County Administration Building, 506 Broad Street, Milford.
The cost is $45 for first-time participants, $35 for those returning to the program. Please attend one of two information sessions on March 15th.
