Jon M. Castimore announces he will run for Blooming Grove Township Supervisor in 2011.
As a 27 year resident of Blooming Grove, Castimore has a long history of service to his community. Presently, Castimore serves on the Local Emergency Planning Committee, Pike County Road Task Force, Storm Water Management, and the Marcella Shale Task Force Committee.  Also an active member of the Blooming Grove Fire Company, an EMT for Tafton Fire Company and a Forest Fire Warden for the Bureau of Forestry, Castimore commits time and energy to the people in the township.
Castimore’s experience demonstrates his ability to work with all levels of government: federal, state, county and municipal. Presently he is a member of an elite team: the Pennsylvania Specialized Fire Crew who are dispatched to national emergencies when sent by the US Forest Service. Castimore works for Blooming Grove Township as the Chief of Maintenance. His responsibilities are to maintain the municipal building and the township roads and trucks. Before he retired from the Bureau of Forestry, Castimore held the position of Forest Fire Specialist Supervisor.
While serving the community, Jon M. Castimore has received many awards.  In 1994 he received a service award from the American Red Cross.  He was the recipient of the Lords Valley Rotary Award in 1998 for his service to the community.  Jon was also awarded a DCNR Secretary Award in 1998 for his work with the tornado that hit the area.
Castimore resides with his wife, Kim, in Blooming Grove. He is the father of three daughters.
