The 13th Annual Hawley Winterfest, which takes place December 9th through the 11th, is a magical celebration the entire family loves.
Each year, festive, old-fashioned winter events bring excitement and anticipation for the holiday season to this quaint, charming town.
Winterfest is one of the biggest holiday festivals in the area and is known for its Victorian themed events and activities.  While most of the events appeal to both adults and children, there are a few that are more adult friendly and others that children will especially love.
For instance, adults will enjoy activities such as Winter Wines by the Lake at the Lake Wallenpaupack Visitors Center, listening to Wally and the Paupacks in Ehrhardt’s Pub, the Wine and Cheese Reception at the Potting Shed, the Open House Holiday Party in Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Banquet Center, the Winterfest Brunch with Music by Harpist Diane O’Malley at the Settlers Inn, and various art exhibits and shows around town, to name a few. Children will like the Marshmallow “Snowman” Contest at Wayne Bank, Create a Holiday Card at the Hawley Public Library, Meet the Bear Photo Op at the Hawley Train Station, Portraits with Santa at Hawleywood Studios, Breakfast with Santa at the Boathouse Restaurant and more.
People of all ages can participate in most of the events. Some fun events for theentire family include the Winterfest Opening Ceremony on the Palmyra Township Beach, the 10th Annual Cookie Walk and Victorian Luncheon at the First Presbyterian Church, the Holiday Ice Sculptures around town, Sounds of the Season with Black Bear Conservatory of Music’s Children’s Choir at the Hawley Library, Towed Tube Rides by Ski Big Bear in Bingham Park, the Horse and Carriage Rides at Miss Elly’s Antiques and Such, the Author Book Signings at the Hawley Library, Cider and Sweets by the “Fire” at Teeter’s Furniture, the Where’s Santa?
