Charles A. Moreiko, age 55, of Greene Township, Canadensis, died Friday evening March 9, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Catherine (Waters) Moreiko, at home. Born in Phillipsburg, Nj, son of the late Charles P. and Edith (Fowler) Moreiko, he had resided in Greene Township for the past ten years and prior to that, in Chesapeake, Va.
He proudly served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1996 as an Electrician’s Mate First Class. He served during the Gulf War.
Moreiko enjoyed hunting and fishing, all animals and the great outdoors.
In addition to his wife Catherine, he is survived by a daughter Melissa (Kevin) Hayes and son Charles P. (Faith) Moreiko, both of Virginia Beach, Va.; three step sons: Joseph (Christine) Barakey and Michael (Wendy) Barakey, both of Virginia Beach, Va. and Daniel (Melissa) Barakey, Chesapeake, Va.; a step daughter: Cheryl Carr, RIchmond, Va.; six grandchildren; a sister Tina Shiffler, Greentown, and two brothers Jeffrey Moreiko, Big Lake, Alaska, and Stephen Moreiko, Aurora, Colorado.
Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 14 in the Arthur J. Frey Funeral Home, 201 Rt. 191 Village of LaAnna, South Sterling. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until service time at the Funeral Home.
