  • John Knoll, Lackawaxen, PA, a retired owner of a telecommunications company and longtime resident of the area passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at home with his family by his side. He was 80 years old.

  • John Knoll, Lackawaxen, PA, a retired owner of a telecommunications company and longtime resident of the area passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at home with his family by his side. He was 80 years old.
    The son of the late Mike and Kate Giska Knoll, he was born March 16, 1931 in Brookfield, Illinois.
    John was the widower of Joan Bruns Knoll, who passed away on November 26, 2009. They were married for 52 years.
    John was a Korean Conflict veteran having served as a Sergeant in the US Army. He was the recepient of the Bronze Service Star. He was a member of the VFW and the Lackawaxen Fire Department.
    A family statement reads: “John was a loving father, and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors, but most of all his garden. John adored his grandchildren and loved to spoil them and then send them home. He was a special person that cared about everyone. He will truly be missed.”
    John is survived by his four children, Jean Corday and her husband Richard of Collegeville, PA, Mike Knoll and his wife Lisa of Lackawaxen, PA, Susan Edwards and her husband Dane of Hagerstown, MD and Daniel Knoll and his wife Denise of Allentown, NJ.
    Eight grandchildren: Christy Livezy and her husband Tom, Jason Corday, Ann Marie Knoll. Tyier Edwards. Frank Knoll, Casey Edwards, Kyle Edwards and Michael Knoll. Many nieces and nephews.
    John is predeceased by six brothers and sisters.
    Friends are invited to call on Sunday March 18, 2012 from 2 p.m to 4 p.m.,  7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday, March 19, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home 3412 Route 97, Barryville, NY 12719.
    Funeral Service will be held on Monday March 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
    Burial will follow in Lackawaxen Cemetery, Lackawaxen, PA.
