  • Delaware Valley All Stars Add Another Chapter to Dynasty

  • As has been the case for the past five years, Delaware Valley made a strong showing at the District Five Cal Ripken Tournament. This summer, the DV 12s captured the crown and advanced to states.

  • The Delaware Valley 12 year old all-star baseball team recently won the Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken division District 5 all star tournament hostedby Milford.
    Under the guidance of manager Greg Chelak DV ran roughshod over its competition, winning all four of its games in impressive fashion.
    Big Numbers
    The Milford-based squad defeated Forest City in the championship game by a final score of 10-0.
    This year’s 12U tournament featured six teams from NEPA including DV Valley, Forest City, Honesdale, Valley View, Waymart and Wyalusing. 
    Delaware Valley opened its gold medal quest with a  razor-thin 5-4 win over Valley View.
    The young Warriors followed that up with lopsided victories over Forest City (9-0) and Honesdale (15-1). In the championship game, DV scored early &?often en route to an eventual Mercy Rule shutout.
    Delaware Valley’s performance was marked by solid defense and stellar pitching. 
    Zach Klapak was named the tournament MVP. 
    The team will now compete in the Pennsylvania Cal Ripken state baseball tournament in Springfield.
    This year’s DV all-star roster includes: Shane Fagan, Nick Brown, Ryan Simpson, Clayton Chelak, Tom Raniero and Connor Madsen, Ryan Bulkley, Nick Reilly, David Grady, Zach Klapak, Hunter Simpson and Joey Loughney, Chris Vibert.
    Assistant coaches are Joe Loughney, Ronnie Klapak.  and Joe Raniero.
    Dynasty
    This group of Delaware Valley youth baseball players has spent the past five years striking fear into the hearts of Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken opponents.
    DV has now won four straight District 5 titles in the 9U, 10U, 11U and 12U divisions. In addition, with a team comprised mostly of 8-year-olds, five of the current players competed in the 9U division in ‘08 and finished as D-5 runners-up. 
    In each of the past five years, this squad has advanced to the Pennsylvania Cal Ripken State Baseball Tournament.
