A nature program on small insects is planned at PPL’s Lake Wallenpaupack on Saturday, August 4 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Jenna Wayne, PPL Education and Public Outreach Assistant, will help children discover the small insects that can be found in Lake Wallenpaupack. For this Nature Series program, participants will collect water samples and look through microscopes to find the small but important critters that swim in the water.
For each Nature Series program they attend, kids will receive a stamp to place in a Nature Series Passport.
The last program on August 22 will be a special presentation with pizza, entertainment and prizes for passport stamps. Dress for the outdoors, and parent participation is welcome. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy outside before or after the program. Registration is required.
Meet at the PPL Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center. The Center is off Route 6 just east of the intersection of Routes 590 and 6 and next to Wallenpaupack Area High School.
