If you love live music, you won’t want to miss Wally Lake Fest, a three day festival from August 24th through the 26th celebrating summer on and around Lake Wallenpaupack.?The third annual festival kicks off on Friday, August 24th with an evening of music from and entertainment around the lake and in downtown Hawley. Enjoy Blues, Brews and Barbeque at the Settlers Inn on Main Avenue in Hawley from 5 to 9 p.m. with samples of microbrews and delicious barbeque and jazz music by The Liberto Trio.?Beginning at 8 p.m., The Ritz Company Playhouse, also in town on Keystone Street, is featuring a showing of “Bingo!”, a farce by Allan Stratton.?Head over to the lake for Happy Hour at Gresham’s Chop House on Route 6 where entertainment provided by Johnny D from 6 to 9 p.m. Is sure to get the crowd dancing. Stop by Ehrhardt’s Pub on Route 507 for live music by Burden on Society, food and drink specials and The Boat House Restaurant, also on Route 507, for the rockin’ music of Pocono Blues and Jazz (PB&J).?The Lake Region is a large attraction and each season it attracts numerous people to its 52 miles of shoreline whether they are visitors or year round residents. The sparkling waters provide an endless amount of water activities from swimming to parasailing and boating to fishing.?But these are not the only activities that can be done on the lake. According to organizers, this year, Battle of the Bands, pushes the envelope with live music right ON the water.?On Saturday August 25th, four bands will perform throughout the day on a floating stage in front of the Lake Wallenpaupack Visitors Center and the Tafton Dike. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., bands such as Gone Crazy, As Iz, and Crush will bring the music out of the restaurants and pubs and onto the lake, the source of the celebration.
