The Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will prove that “Everything Old is New Again,” when it presents its second annual luncheon and fashion show Sunday, Sept. 16, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Forest Lake Club, near Hawley.?The show will feature gently-used clothing from the auxiliary’s two thrift stores, The Other Shop 1 in Honesdale and The Other Shop 2 in Hawley. Clothing worn by the models will be for sale.?The menu will include warm red pepper and tomato soup, chicken salad in a croissant with a side of rice salad and triple lemon delight for dessert.?The guest speaker will be Stacie Sutton-Jackson, who recently graduated from the Luzerne County Community College School of Nursing at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Sutton-Jackson received the auxiliary’s first scholarship to the school. She was a member of the program’s first graduating class of 14 students, who earned an Associate in Applied Science with a concentration in nursing. Many graduates of the program, including Sutton-Jackson, will work at Wayne Memorial Hospital after they take the RN licensure exam.?Proceeds from the luncheon and fashion show will benefit the auxiliary’s scholarship fund so the organization can assist other deserving students enrolled in the nursing program.?Tickets are $18 and are available at the Other Shops in Hawley and Honesdale, at The Gift Box at the hospital or by calling committee Chairperson Martha Wilson at (570) 685-7482.
