Two awards will be given at the annual Wallenpaupack Historical Society (WHS) dinner on Friday, September 28th, at Ehrhardt’s for historic presrvation.?The first award, for historic restoration of a residence, will be given to Drs, Jorge and Estela Rojas of Academy Street, Hawley, for their work restoring the Thomas V. Taft home. The second award will be given to WHS member Audrey Graybill, for her on-going efforts to promote historic preservation within the Society.?The public is cordially invited to attend this event. Reservations must be received by Sept. 21st and sent to Nancy Gumble, P.O. Box 303, Tafton, PA 18464, payable to WHS. The cost of the evening is $35.00 per person.?A special guest, Dr. Kurt Carr, senior curator of Archaeology at the PA State Museum in Harrisburg, will present his viewpoint of the importance of doing archaeology research, showcasing WHS’s large collection of projectile points and Stone Age implements found along the Wallenpaupack River.?In addition, a Chines Auction, as well as a Silent Auction, will be conducted for the enjoyment of the dinner guests.
