Dingman Township will hold a grand opening and dedication ceremony of its new park at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 30.
The Township Board of Supervisors started financially planning and looking for property over 10 years ago. With the property purchase completed at the end of 2006, the last six years have been spent obtaining state and local permits, constructing roads, parking, two baseball fields, an open play area, playgrounds and a concession/rest room building, as well as water, sewage, storm water and electrical infrastructure.
The park entrance is off Log Tavern Road, across from the Dingman Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Township residents are invited to participate in this long-awaited event. For more information call Township Secretary Karen Kleist at (570)296-8455.
