  •  On Saturday September 22, from 10 to 11 a.m., people are invited to attend a Winter Bird Talk at PPL’s Lake Wallenpaupack to learn where summertime feeder birds live during the winter months.?Naturalist Jane Frye will discuss some of the southern parks, preserves and sanctuaries where the local summertime birds reside in the winter.?There will be a slide presentation with the program. Meet at the PPL Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center.?The site is off Route 6, just east of the intersection of Routes 590 and 6 and next to Wallenpaupack Area High School.?The Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center is part of PPL's Wallenpaupack hydroelectric project, built in 1926 near Hawley.
