One of the highlights of Hawley Winterfest is the house tours. This event welcomes neighbors and guests to view homes in and around Hawley.
Residents are sought who are interested in opening their home to a tour.
"It is a great fundraiser for Winterfest," said Keith Williams of Downtown Hawley Partnership (DHP). He said that the money has been used to assist with projects at the Hawley Library and downtown Hawley such as facades, festival lights and the bike share program.
He said that ideally they would like to include some of the older homes in the Hawley area. Historic information about the homes, provided by the owner, will be contained in te Winterfest brochure, web site and house tour map.
The residents conduct the tours. Williams said that the entire house does not have to be open to the tour. Homes should be deocorated for the holidays, in keeping with the Winterfest theme.
If you, or someone your know, is willing to help out this year, please have them contact Williams by email, firstname.lastname@example.org or phone, (570)226-2141.
The Winterfest House Tours are scheduled for Saturday, December 8th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Their goal is to have six houses on the tour.
