Central Court was cancelled for Richard F. Cimino Jr., Sept. 26, after he called the District Attorney's office requesting a preliminary hearing. The Central Court session is an opportunity for a defendant to appear and either waive his right to a hearing or request one.
The preliminary hearing was set for Monday, Oct. 29 at 10:30 a.m., before District Judge Bonnie Carney in Hawley. The hearing allows the judge to determine if there is sufficient warrant for the charges and if the case will proceed further.
Cimino, age 20, of Doylestown, is accused of two burglaries and an attack on a woman who was walking along Hudson Street, Hawley, the morning of Sept. 7.
The District Attorney's office did not have information on who may be Cimino's defense attorney.
