SHOHOLA- The 2012 Chuck Melloh Memorial 5K Bridge Run/Walk will take place Saturday, Oct. 13, at 9 a.m. Sponsored by the Shohola Boy Scout Troop 76, the event is dedicated to the memory of Charles “Chuck” Melloh who passed away suddenly in October 2011. Melloh was the Charter Organization Executive Officer for Boy Scout Troop 76. The course winds through the rolling hills of Shohola Township, the town of Shohola, then across the Delaware River on the Shohola? Barryville Bridge into Barryville, NY. A short out and back down River Road in Barryville is followed by another trip across the bridge and then a loop through Shohola back to Rohman Park. Race day registration and packet pick up starts at 7:30 a.m. at Rohman Park, 120 Twin Lakes Road, Shohola. The event is the kickoff to the “Pumpkins in The Park” community event that the Shohola Park and Recreation Committee sponsors. Proceeds from the 5K event will support Boy Scout Troop 76’s program activities, such as Merit Badge opportunities, summer camp fees for those in need, and equipment for camping trips.
