HONESDALE- An annual Blessing of the Animals and Dedication of Those who Love Them will be held this Saturday, October 6th at 5 p.m. in Central Park in Honesdale.Sponsored by Grace Episcopal Church, the event is open for all who are able to bring their pets – four-legged, two-winged or scaled.The service will include Holy Communion, as animal lovers dedicate themselves to care for "All God’s Creatures." Father Edward K. Erb, rector of Grace Church, continues a tradition celebrated by many Churches throughout the country in remembrance of St. Francis of Assissi, the patron saint of animals, whose feast day is October 4th.Treats for pets and their lovers will be offered for fellowship after the service. All are welcome for this service of dedication. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held in the Parish Hall of Grace Episcopal Church, 827 Church Street, Honesdale.
