  •  PIKE COUNTY- The Pike County Commissioners issued the following information Monday in regards to preparations for Hurricane Sandy. Pike County Area Agency on Aging to remain open at the Blooming Grove Facility. Meals will be delivered Monday, October 29, 2012. Pike County Transportation will suspend non-emergency services for Tuesday, October 30th, although all drivers and buses are to be placed on stand-by at various locations (listed below) to assist with any evacuation program if needed. Please contact your local municipality should evacuations be ordered. 1. Dingman Township Firehouse 2. Delaware Township Municipal Building 3. Lehman Township Municipal Building 4. Westfall Township Firehouse 5. Blooming Grove Township Municipal Building 6. Blooming Grove Senior Center 7. Tafton Firehouse 8. Greeley Firehouse 9. Shohola Township Firehouse 10. Promised Land Firehouse The Milford Water Authority will have a water station opened at the Shell Station on Broad and Sarah Streets in Milford. Just bring your own containers to fill. All inquiries concerning power issues are to be directed to the following numbers: 1. Orange & Rockland 1-800-533-5325 (to report gas leaks) 2. Orange & Rockland 1-877-434-4100 (to report power outages) 3. Med Ed 1-888-544-4877 (to report power outages) 4. PPL Electric 1-800-342-5775 (to report power outages) The Pike County Commissioners are currently and will continue to monitor this event and provide all the support available to the local municipalities and residents of Pike County throughout and after the storm has ended. Please contact your local municipality for any emergency or concerns regarding Hurricane Sandy. PennDOT and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) also issued an advisory on Monday urging motorists to avoid all unecessary travel in eastern Pennsylvania. Motorists can check road conditions on more than 2,900 miles of state roads by calling 5-1-1 or by visiting www.511PA.com. Local media will be advised by the American Red Cross if Red Cross shelters have been requested by County Emeregency Operation Centers.
