    DINGMAN TWP.- Emergency Medical Services of Northeastern Pennsylvania and Luzeme County Community College will be sponsoring an EMT Course which will be conducted at the Dingman Township Ambulance building. This program is scheduled to start on Monday, November 5, and will be conducted every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7 to 10 p.m. for approximately 20 weeks.
    Upon successful completion of the course the students will be eligible to sit for the state certification exams. Students who successfully pass the exams will be awarded Pennsylvania State Certification as an EMT. Personnel enrolling in the course must have good oral and written command of the English language. Students must be 16 years of age at the time of certification.
    The fee for this course including all instructional materials and supplies is $345.00. Checks or money orders should be made payable to EMSNP and may be submitted with the course registration form.
    Any person who has not pre-registered must be prepared to make payment to EMSNP on registration night. Applications received without payment of the registration fee will be deemed not to be pre- registered. Pre-registered students have priority. Space is limited. Refunds will not be made after the first class session following registration night.
    You must have a Booster Tetanus shot within ten years and a current TB test. A photo ID must be presented on registration night.
    The EMT course covers all techniques of emergency medical care presently considered within the responsibilities of the EMT, as well as operational aspects of the job which they will be expected to perform. The course consists of 55 lessons involving 175 hours of classroom and field training.
    Specific objectives of the course are: 1) teach students the overall role and responsibilities of the EMT in performing both the emergency care and operation aspects of the job; 2) develop student skills in patient assessment and all emergency treatment procedures, and 3) develop student skills in the use and care of all equipment required to accomplish the job.
