Public libraries in Wayne County will soon be adding electronic versions of magazines, accessible to anyone with a local library card.
Molly Rodgers, Administrator for Wayne Library Alliance, stated that thanks to recent donations to their county-wide appeal, they will soon offere-magazines through Zinio.
With your library card, you can read magazines on your electronic device, your computer, laptop, iPad, iPhone, Android, or smartphone. Kindle Fires are compatible; however, plain Kindles are not.
"We can budget for 25-30 different magazines to start," she said. An online survey is underway inviting the public to let the Wayne Library Alliance know what titles they would like the most. There is also an opportunity online to donate the cost of an e-magazine.
"Your gift will add to our initial set of subscriptions and will benefit everyone," Rodgers said.
Subscription costs are equivalent to print subscriptions and are available by request. E-magazines are simultaneous use, so lots of readers can enjoy the same issue at the same time, with no holds or waits. Once you like an e-magazine in your account, new issues will arrive automatically.
The online survey may be accessed at:
Rodgers inviited the public to forward this link to any of their friends who might not have time to stop at a library but who would be interested in getting a library card to read e-magazines.
