Richard Caccavale, Jr., age 33, of Canadensis died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Geisinger-Community Medical Center, Scranton. Born June 16, 1979, in Dover, NJ, he was the son of Richard and Josephine (Odorizzi) Caccavale Sr. of Greentown.
He was a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School, Class of 1997, and attended East Stroudsburg University. He was employed as a truck driver by Western Oil Field Supply Co.
Richard was an avid fisherman who loved every minute he spent on the river. He also loved spending time hunting, 4-wheeling and camping. He was a true outdoorsman who loved spending time with his family and friends. Whoever knew Rich always said he lived life to the fullest. He could always make you laugh.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers: Joseph of Hawley, Chris and his wife Hollie of Canadensis and Jeff and his fiancee Brittany Martinez of Williamsport; one sister: Krystal Courtright of Georgia; his maternal grandparents: Cornelio and Ida Odorizzi of Hampton, NJ; two nieces: Haley and Gianna Caccavale; his godmother: Christina Odorizzi of Hampton, NJ; and his dog and companion: Carl. Richard was also so loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Crystal Conklin and Robert J.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 1, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Teeters’ East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Martin L. Cox, Jr., Retired Pastor of Hawley United Methodist Church, officiating. Private cremation will be held at Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
