According to Trooper Keith Brislin, Mark Erik Icker, 23, of Maple Acre Road, Sterling Township, broke into John's Italian Restaurant during the night of August 24-25. The burglary occurred at 12:55 a.m.

Once inside Icker allegedly stole $4,000 that had been raised earlier that night for a Lake Ariel woman. Hawley firefighters are resourceful.

Why use water when you can just put the fire out with your boots?

In Hawley Fire Department's report for April 2013 given to Council, it lists a brush fire on April 20th.

The fire was reported at 3:55 p.m. along the tracks on Paupack Street.

Fire personnel stomped out the fire with their boots, and then the fire trucks returned to station.

Dunmore – There is some very slow moving traffic between Exit 186 (Drinker Street) and Exit 190 (Dickson City/Main Ave) on Interstate 81 North in the area of the long-term construction project, PennDOT reported Friday. Spring bird watchers don't have to wait till dawn to look for feathered friends. There's one in the night sky every spring evening. It's Corvus the Crow.

Crows may not be very colorful birds, but this is the dark of night. In mid-May, in mid- evening, the Crow constellation is visible "flying" due south, low in the sky. The principal stars hardly resemble a crow, but they make a neat trapezoid.

DINGMANS FERRY - The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that a 49-year-old Dingmans Ferry resident was indicted Tuesday May 14 by a federal grand jury in Scranton for receiving and distributing child pornography.
