Authorities in Phoenix are looking for an 11-year-old girl with leukemia who is at risk of a deadly infection after her parents inexplicably took her out of a hospital last week. The girl had been receiving chemotherapy at Phoenix Children's Hospital; and on Wednesday night, the girl's mother removed a tube delivering medication to the girl's heart, changed her clothes, and walked her out of the hospital.
This year's flu season has kicked off to its earliest start in almost a decade, Dr. Holly Phillips reports.
Quote of note
"It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. There were times where she refused to move, but in the end a little tough love to save the rest of their life was worth it," said Heidi Bond, mother of Breanna, who weighed 186 pounds when she was just 9 years old. As of this week, Breanna has lost 65 pounds and is down to 121 pounds.
