    The 14th Annual Hawley Winterfest takes place December 7th through the 9th. Here are some highlights planned at local businesses:
    Located behind the Settlers Inn, The Potting Shed is a gift shop full of seasonal merchandise for gardens and homes, with jewelry to pottery items that are influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement.
    The Potting Shed will be hosting a Wine and Cheese Receotipn, December 8 from noon to 5 p.m. People may enjoy hut mulled wine and a 15 percent off a purchase during Winterfest.
    A Hawley landmark, Whatknots Trading Post features cards, stationary, candles, craft items, home décor and more.
    A newer store on Main Avenue, The Petite Boutique offers unique fashions, fooowear and accessories for petite sizes.
    The Antiques and Collectibles shop on Keystone Street offers antiques and novelty items as well as local souvenirs.
    On Church Street, Miss Elly’s Antiques and Such features home décor, art, books, porcelain, vintage linens and more.
    Attached to Miss Elly’s is The Village Bath Shop where there are luxury bath items, gifts, candles, jewelry and other products.
    The Friends and Family Old Fashioned Winterfest Gathering on the 8th and 9th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will allow shoppers to sample assorted heirloom flavor fruit spreads and jams and enjoy many in-store specials at Miss Elly’s.
    While at The Village Bath Shop, people can indulge in complimentary warm mulled cider and holiday treats and browse through the holiday lotions and fragrances and even get a free rubber duck with every $20 purchase.
    East Shore Lodging on Route 6 at Gresham's Landing will hold a Gift Shop Open House on the 8th and 9th. The event is from noon to 4 p.m., and there will be handmade jewelry, fair trade products, Viva Beads, Eco-friendly stocking stuffers, ornaments, handbags, collectibles and more. In addition, there will be free wine and cheese and 10 percent off purchases.
    Penny Lane Candies and Candles on Church Street offers over 500 varieties of nostalgic, novelty and international candy various fine candle lines, candle accessories, hot sauces, figurines, cookbooks, vintage signs, nostalgic toys, games, puzzles, greeting cards and collectibles.
    Along Route 6 the 1881 Hawley Silk Mill, which is the world’s largest bluestone building and once an operating and thriving silk mill, is now a state of the art facility with a college, fitness center, salon, a specialty shops, performing arts venue, a gourmet food market and more. On the 8th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the 9th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the 4th Annual Holiday Artisans’ Fair, formerly called the Juried Arts and Crafts Fair will be held at the Hawley Silk Mill featuring over 25 regional artisans and crafters showcasing their original artworks and crafts. Admission is free.
    Page 2 of 2 - Up the road a bit, Timely Treasures is an antique store with six decorated rooms offering new and antique furniture, lamps, wall art, mirrors, fine candles, accessories, pottery, kitchen products and much more.
    During the 11th Annual Cookie Walk and Victorian Luncheon held on the 8th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on Church Street, holiday crafts will be available and gourmet cookies and candies are for sale. Also on the 8th, Judy’s Hairway to Heaven on Route 6 at Gresham’s Landing is hosting a Holiday Open House from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Shoppers can take advantage of hair product specials, receive complimentary nail art demonstrations and more.
    The Mill Market at the Hawley Silk Mill is the site of the Free Gift Baskets on the 7th from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on the 8th and 9th from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For every purchase of $30 or more, shoppers receive free gift baskets and wrapping service.
    The Mill Market is one of the Hawley Silk Mill’s newest additions and features gourmet groceries, produce, goods and other specialty organic items from local and regional farms, farmers, bakeries and other establishments.
    Free Winterfest shuttles will operate only on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The shuttle will go through town roughly every 15 minutes.
