Louise F. DeRosa, age 77, a guest at Wayne Woodlands Manor, Waymart, and formerly a resident of Barker St. Apartments, Hawley, and New York City, died Monday, December 3, 2012, at Wayne Woodlands Manor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph DeRosa.
Born July 29, 1935, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Miriam (Ettelson) Recchia. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a pharmacy technician.
A vibrant part of the Barker Street community for 14 years, Louise served in the Hawley Senior Center and as part of Hawley's Crime Watch. She was a valuable member of New Hope Church and Ministries.
She is survived by one sister: Josephine Appolini of Hideout, Lake Ariel; two grandchildren: David and Christine Kraics.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Fawn Kraics; three sisters, Rosie Centamore, Lillian Eichinger and Jessica Perrotti; and a brother, Victor Recchia.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Church, 349 Buckingham Rd., Honesdale, PA. Private burial was held at Indian Orchard Cemetery, Honesdale.
