  • Winners Announced for Our 32nd Annual Big Buck Contest

  • More than 60 hunters entered this year's contest and every buck was a trophy!

  • HONESDALE — The Wayne Independent and News Eagle are happy to announce winners for this year's edition of our annual Big Buck Contest.
    This is the 32nd year for the event, which attracted more than 60 entries from lucky hunters all over Pike and Wayne Counties.
    And so, without further ado, here are this year's grand prize winners.

    Youth Division
    Kyle Aleckna of Waymart finished first in this year's Youth Division.
    The 14-yer-old bagged a 10-pointer while hunting in Sterling Township. Kyle's total score was 65 points.
    Kyle earned a mount and prizes totaling $625.

    Women's Division
    Mollie Fenwick of Tunkhannock is this year's Women's Division winner.
    She harvested a 10-pointer while beating the brush in Damascus. Her point total was 79.
    Mollie earned a mount and prizes totaling $550.

    He bagged a massive 8-pointer while hunting in the woods of Berlin Township.
    Jim's total score was a whopping 81. He earned prizes totaling $1,625.
