A Congressional Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to Kay Fiorillo December 2 at the Blooming Grove Republican Club's annual Christmas party at Lords Valley Country Club.
Pennsylvania State Senator Lisa Baker gave Fiorillo the award because of her dedicated work in Blooming Grove Township and Pike County.
A member of Hemlock Farms, Fiorillo has welcomed new residents for years. Pennsylvania State Representative Mike Peifer said "Kay is an invaluable resource to local government."
"I was very surprised at this award. I am pleased that my hard work is appreciated," revealed Kay. "Even my husband did not know about this award!"
Pike County Committee Chairman of the Republican Party Jack Zurlini explained that Kay is very active in political campaigns. "Making a voluminous amount of phone calls, Kay does an outstanding job of getting people out to vote," he said.
In 1993, Kay and her husband, James, moved to Hemlock Farms from Flushing, Queens. They have four sons, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and another grandchild on the way.
Hemlock Farms is a private, gated, recreational community located Blooming Grove and Porter townships, Pike County.
