Find out what Relay for Life is all about at a demonstration relay, planned at Settler's Inn, Hawley, on Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
The purpose of this meeting will be to demonstrate what a Relay For Life event is. There are so many different aspects to a Relay in terms of honoring the cancer survivors and their caregivers, providing support and assistance to those battling the disease, and remembering those who sadly lost their fight with cancer.
"From walking a lap around the track, participating in the Survivors and Caregivers Dinner, and to being a part of the Luminaria Ceremony, Relay For Life is an incredible event that pulls our community together to stand up and fight for others," said Page Hochreither, event co-chairperson.
Participants of all ages, and families and friends, form or join teams and work together to make a difference in the lives of others by fighting cancer and helping to celebrate more birthdays. The Relay For Life of the Greater Lake Region will be held on May 18 and 19, 2013 at the Wallenpaupack Area High School.
