HONESDALE- Wayne Memorial Hospital Department of Home Health/Hospice Services and the Wayne County Area Agency on Aging in response to the current flu outbreak will sponsor a flu clinic. The flu clinic for the public will be held on Wednesday, January 16.
"Flu shots" will be administered from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce Community Room, Commercial Street, Honesdale.
There is a $5 charge for administration of the vaccine; there is no charge for the vaccine which is supplied by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
A "number system" will be used and vaccine will be administered on a first come first serve basis until all available doses are administered. Flu shots will be limited to adults only at this clinic. Please contact your physician regarding flu vaccine for children.
A "flu shot" contains an inactivated vaccine (killed or dead virus) that is given with a needle, usually in the arm. The flu shot is approved for use in people older than 6 months, including healthy people and people with chronic medical conditions.
