WAYNE COUNTY - First National Community Bank (FNCB), the largest community bank in Northeastern Pennsylvania, announced a $950 donation to the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties as part of its $181,000 Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) commitment for 2012. This donation helps provide United Way scholarships to quality pre-school programs for children from income eligible families.
FNCB has been a long-time supporter of the United Way Pre-K program.
"The United Way is committed to ensuring all children in our region have the best chance for success in school and throughout their lives," noted Nikki Keller, Vice President of Community Impact Marketing for the United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties. "We are grateful to First National Community Bank for their continued support of this vital program," she added.
The support of the United Way represents part of FNCB’s larger Community Caring initiative. Through outreach programs, donations and an employee volunteer network, FNCB is committed to helping the communities they serve.
