Local activist group Waynepeace, founded in 2002, heads into its second decade with a discussion about the state of the peace and justice agenda in the Obama's second term. The discussion will take place Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 5:15 p.m., at the Wayne County Public Library on North Main Street in Honesdale.
Following the 2012 presidential campaign, many issues remain unresolved, and new battles loom on the horizon. From drone warfare to economic inequality, firearms to fracking - what are the priorities now for those interested in creating a more just, peaceful and sustainable society? What kinds of witness, education and action will be called for? Everyone who has an interest in such issues is invited to join the members of Waynepeace in planning for the coming year, and re-evaluating the Waynepeace platform.
Refreshments will be served. Use of Wayne County Public Library facilities by Waynepeace does not constitute an endorsement by WCPL of Waynepeace's policies or positions. For more information, visit Waynepeace's website at waynepeace.wordpress.com.
