The Webelos of Cub Scout Pack 229 recently visited the Hawley Garage. Robert Fortuna and his staff showed them about automotive care. They learned about the importance regular maintenance, such as changing oil, tire pressure and rotation.

Pronounced "WEE-buh-los", the word "Webelos" means WE'll BE LOyal Scouts. The Webelos Scout Program prepares boys in grades 4 and 5 to bridge into a Boy Scout troop. The Webelos Program is more challenging than Tiger, Wolf, and Bear programs for younger Cub Scouts. Webelos Scouts can earn twenty Activity Badges from five different skill groups, Physical, Mental, Technology, Technology, Outdoor, and Community.

The work the boys did at Hawley Garage will help them earn the Handyman Badge. The highest award a Webelos can receive is the Arrow of Light.

Pack 229 expressed thanks to Robert Fortuna and the staff at Hawley Garage for the opportunity to visit and learn what they do.

Pack 229 is hosted by the Tafton Fire Company.
