Maternal and Family Health Services (MFHS) offers programs that empower women to seek early detection and treatment of breast and cervical cancer by removing the financial barriers to screening services for low-income or uninsured women in Northeast Pennsylvania.
The Healthy Woman Cancer Screening Program, funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, provides a full range of diagnostic services, such as pap tests, pelvic examinations, mammograms, ultrasounds, clinical breast examinations, biopsies and education on breast care.
Eligible women must meet the following eligibility requirements:

* No medical insurance or limited insurance with a high deductible
* Low to moderate income, for example: $27,925 for 1 person, $37,825 for a family two

Maternal and Family Health Services encourages women throughout Pennsylvania to use Cervical Health Awareness Month as an opportunity to schedule for themselves and encourage other women in their lives to do the same.
