  •  WALLENPAUPACK - The following scholarships are available to Wallenpaupack seniors, Class of 2013. This list will be periodically updated. Seniors should contact the School Guidance Office for more information.

    • Dr. Alice Marie Horst Memorial Scholarship

    Does not accept WAHS application

    Amount:

    $500 Criteria:

    Application required-WAHS student for minimum of 4 yrs-secured enrollment in Vocational/Trade school or college-overall character and financial need-1 reference letter from non-family member-brief statement about self-transcript

    • Delaware Highlands Conservancy/Yeaman Scholarship

    Does not accept WAHS application

    Amount:

    $1,000 Criteria:

    Application required-must further education in the field of natural sciences related to land stewardship or environmental sciences-50/100 word statement of why you intend to pursue this career-2 teacher assessment forms-transcript

    • Promised Land Ladies Community Club Scholarship

    Accepts WAHS application

    Amount:

    $300 Criteria:

    Application required-must live or work in Promised Land for 6 months or be a child of a club member-attend college/technical school-selected on basis of academics-contribution to school & community-financial need- must live between Rt. 390 "Y" and Shiny Mt. Rd & Romerville Rd.-Mossette Rd

    • The Dime Bank Director's Award

    Amount:

    $1,250 Criteria:

    Application required-must pursue career in business, finance, marketing, economics or accounting-have acceptable grades-4 yr degree

    • The Dorothy Noble DAR Scholarship

    Does not accept WAHS application

    Amount:

    $400 Criteria:

    350 word essay of reasons desiring an education beyond high school-must be neatly printed or typed, grammar and form important--letter of recommendation from counselor or teacher-trustworthiness-

    Agriculture, Heart Of Wayne-Pike County Agricultural Scholarship Does not accept WAHS applicationAmount: $750 (3) varies

    Criteria: Application required-not necessarily agriculture oriented-enrolled in a 2/4 yr college-transcript-statement of future goals-letter of recommendation from someone not related outside of school-list activities-work experience

    • Columbia Italian-American Club Award

    Does not accept WAHS application

    Amount: $500-$1,000

    Criteria: Application required-must be a Pike County resident-transcript-must be accepted at accredited 2/4 yr college or university-1 parent or 1 grandparent must be 100% Italian heritage – 200-250 word essay "Why I am proud of my Italian heritage"-must attend dinner in June

    • Dental Health Scholarship

    Amount: $500

    Criteria: Application required-at least 3.0 average-open to any student pursuing a career in dentistry: dentist, dental hygienist, or dental assisting

    • Hawley Regional Performing Arts Scholarship

    Accepts WAHS application

    Amount: $1,000/4 yrs

    Criteria: Application required-pursue career in music or theater-1 letter of recommendation from member of music/drama faculty verifying talent & 1 from another source (no family)-demonstrate talent in audition sometime in May-all applicants will be notified of date & time-progress report in college-participate in future fund raising shows

    • Marine Corps League Scholarship

    No application – must sign up – copy of DD214

    Amount: $500

    Criteria: No application-but must sign up-member of immediate family must have been or presently are serving in US military-need-good citizenship-community service-attend 2/4/yr college/technical school-copy of DD214 discharge paper (make note on form how the person is related to you) or ID info if presently serving-immediate family defined as grandparents-mother-father-aunt-uncle-brother-sister

    • Pike County Public Library Scholarship

    Accepts WAHS application

    Amount: $500

    Criteria: Application required-must attend college and major in education-minimum GPA 2.9-financial need

    • Pike County Council of Republican Women Scholarship Accepts WAHS application

    Amount: $1,000

    Criteria: Application required-must be Pike County resident-must further education at a 2/4/year school-Have you participated in any school, local, state or national political campaigns?-If so, explain-Do you have any interest in political science?-If so, explain

    • United States Bowling Congress

    Does not accept WAHS application

    Criteria: High school senior planning to attend college or tech school. Applicant must be a USBC member in good standing, or the child or grandchild of a USBC member enrolled in a USBC certified league at the time of application. 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scales (or equivalent).

    Due Date: Applications must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2013

    • The Pennsylvania Association of Medical Suppliers (PAMS) Does not accept WAHS application

    Criteria: A deserving student who has overcome physical challenges with the help of home medical equipment and supplies. The award must be used toward a post-high school education program
