  •  Red Cross aids fire victims

    The American Red Cross of Wayne Pike
    is assisting two adults and three children who were displaced by a fire Wednesday morning, March 6, from 142 Maple Avenue Lake Ariel.
    The Red Cross provided food, groceries, clothing, and seasonal garments to the family and will follow up with additional services, if needed.
    Lake Ariel Fire Department arrived on scene at 8:42 a.m. Chief Mike DiPierro said that the fire started on the back porch and spread to the living room. The blaze was out by 9:07 a.m. No injuries were reported.
    Maplewood, Hamlin, Ledgedale and Jefferson Township fire companies assisted, and Hamlin had an ambulance on scene.
